    Anteater is an animal that generally eaters termites and ants. Pilosa and Sloths are within the order pilosa. Echidnas, numbat, aardvark, and pangolins are also sometimes called anteaters. Anteaters are related to solths, armadillos are their next.

    There are four existing species of anteaters in three genera. The giant anteater, Silky anteater, Northern and southern tamandua. They belonged to one of the three families of the group of mammals that were present in South America when it was isolated from the invasion of animals of North America. Armadillos and sloths were the other two families.
