Try to remember that Danny is struggling with accepting who he really is and he is having a hard time finding his "place" in the cultures around him. He struggles due to he cannot seem to accept his american heritage or his Chinese heritage. He looks different - but in reality he is an awesome person that just needs to find himself and love himself.
