Read the following passage:

When we arrived at the clubhouse, we found it crawling

with tennis players. Apparently there was some kind of

tournament going on. Didn't they realize this was a place

for refined sportsmen, not sweaty athletes? I asked my

fellow golfers if they would prefer to dine on the patio.

Which words from the passage best create a superior tone toward the tennis

players?

The line 'didn't they realise this was a place for refined sportsman, not sweaty athletes?' from the given passage best creates a superior tone towards tennis players.

    Explanation:

Here the comparison is done between the athletes and the tennis players. The athletes are portrayed as sweaty whereas the tennis players are represented as the refined sportsman. Their sportsmanship is determined as refined. This comparison is done when there was a tournament going on and the basis of the question the characteristic of the tennis player is shown.
