During the years after his torture, Lomax described himself to be a man whose hatred has to stop. He became a man with a forgiven heart.

Though before that, after his torture in the hands of his Japanese captors, he made up his mind to revenge. But with the persuasion of his wife, Patti Lomax, he made up his mind to forgive his captors. It's amazing and divine.

    Explanation:

In Eric Lomax's book, "The Railway Man", Lomax described his ordeal in the hands of his Japanese captors. He explained his experiences in the prison and how he was humiliated. After 50 years, he was able to meet his captors and he forgave them. Eric Lomax passed away at the age of 93 years having forgiven his captors.

On a line in his book, he wrote: "Sometime the hating has to stop"
