Ead the following lines from "The Raven:" "Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend!" I shrieked, upstarting - "Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken! - quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!" Which choice identifies the tone and describes its effect? The tone is mocking and tells the reader that the speaker does not take the raven seriously. The tone is haunting and tells the reader that the speaker is dreaming. The tone is sneaky and tells the reader that the speaker is plotting against the raven. The tone is intense and tells the reader that the speaker is very mad at the raven.

I believe the answer is D. The tone is intense and tells the reader is very mad at the raven.

I have a collection of Poe's work in my bedroom. And this piece was one of my favorites.
