    The name of the small fictional town from the Stephen King's works is Castle Rock, Maine. It is a small town placed in his fictional topography of Maine. It first appeared in his novel The Dead Zone from 1979. King was born in Portland, Maine, and he created three fictional towns in his works: Castle Rock, Derry and Jerusalem's Lot. The works which's plot is placed in Castle Rock are: novels Cujo, The Dead Zone, The Dark Half and Needful Things, novellas The Body and The Sun Dog, and short stories Uncle Otto's Truck, Mrs. Todd's Shourtcut and It Grows on You.
