He sees euphemism as a scourge on the language and a way for people (politicians among many) to hide the meaning of what they're saying. This makes it difficult for people to get to the crux of an argument. Two great examples are the "pro-life/pro-choice" argument as well as the "religious freedom" debate. Both have meanings that are not as clear as they could be when regarding what the terms are actually encompassing.
