In both passages, the children had adults in their lives who listened to them. In The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the Professor is supportive and believes the children when they explain why four of his coats are missing. The text says, he "didn't tell them not to be silly or not to tell lies, but believed the whole story." Likewise, in "Children of Wartime Evacuation," when Joan Risley says that she wants to be evacuated a second time, her parents listen to her and send her to live in another foster home, which turns out to be very loving. Both passages share the idea that the children were valued enough to be listened to and the theme that it is important to listen to loved ones.
