Black feet people were nomadic hunters and strout fishermen found in Northern America. They expanded their base as time went on.

The horses were initially absent in their region. The horses were believed to be first given to them as a gift by the Whites or by barter by the Kootenais.

The use of these horses transformed the way Plains people lived and spread in the region by means of trade.

These horses are used during the time when Plains people are doing trading. People became better hunters when they were on horseback. That is the reason why Blackfeet tells the story about it.
