The correct answer to the question: Which statement below is an incorrect decription of the role Puritan women played in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, is, A: Women could attend school.

    Explanation:

The Massachusetts Bay Colony, established around 1620 by Pilgrims, was known for many things, one of which was, its treatment of women. In essence, Pilgrims of this colony believed that women were the property and responsibility of men, inferior to them in every respect, and thus had very little, to no, rights, in the colony. What Puritan women were considered good for was: marriage, birthing and raising children, teaching younger girls about female activities, and nothing more than that. The reason why the first is the correct answer, and not the last one, is that women were never allowed to attend school, and the option is written in the affirmative, which would mean that in fact, in the Massachusetts Bay colony, women were allowed to attend school. This makes it wrong, as women were not allowed such a thing at the time. Answer option D was a true description of the Colony because women were not allowed to own land.
