Puritan : a person with strict morals and religious principles.

Puritans believe that everything is predestined the moment you are born. They have strict rules to follow such as attending church all the time, praying to God whenever, sex after marriage, doing good deeds so you can go to Heaven, etc.

Pilgrims : a group of individuals that moves places for religious reasons

Significant to the puritan religion because they were first pilgrims that moved away from the Roman Catholic in Europe to settle in the New World to have a different religion.

Protestant : a branch of Christianity that believes Jesus is the head of the church, instead of the priest. They are simply Christians who wish to worship without central authority, without a buffer between man and God.

The puritans separated from the Roman Catholic church because they had different beliefs than those of Catholics. They saw the wrongdoings of the church, and wanted to create a new religion where you can be connected to God without giving money to the church.

Christian : a person that believes in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, or the Messiah.

Protestants and Catholics fall into this because both religions believes in Jesus Christ.

Calvinist : a person who believes in predestination, and that doing something is wrong makes it a sinful act against God.

Puritans were hardcore believers of this, and they would do anything to go to Heaven.
