The author described her father as a strict person with extreme beliefs.

    Explanation:

In the memoir, Educated by Tara Westover the father of Tara was described as very strict man who tolerated and allowed the violence perpetrated by Tara's brother. The family was a very traditional family where people were not allowed to express their opinions.

As a result of all the restrictions on her, Tara decided to leave home. Within ten years, she acquired her doctorate degree. This was considered an act of rebellion. Her mother was a herbalist and her brother did not treat her nicely. They practiced the Mormon religion which she felt, placed many limitations on women.
