This English poet of the Victorian Era, who lived from 1806 to 1861 and was very popular in Britain and USA in her lifetime, specially for starting very young, at 6 years old. She campaigned for the end of slavery, and wrote prolifically from 1841 to 1844 about social issues and the aesthetics of poetry. In 1844 the book "Poems" had great succes, and attracted the attention of her future husband, Robert Browning.

Some critics say this relationship, which lasted until her death, gave a new breath to her career, that was loosing appeal. And the "sonnet 43", called "How do I love thee?' is testimony of his influence, and of her talent.
