The author bases his opinion regarding the only alternative to achieve peace in Afghanistan in the previous historical processes that define the current situation in that country.

In this regard, since the Soviet invasion of the country, there was a disagreement between the Taliban and the country's central government, until in the 1990s the Taliban themselves overthrew the government, establishing an authoritarian Islamic regime. This situation degenerated into an open civil war, which included American involvement as of 2001, in connection with Taliban support for Islamic terrorists.

Therefore, the only alternative for peace and social progress to take their course in Afghanistan depends on the understanding of these two political groups, which at the moment seem irreconcilable.
