    In the first quote; " At this second appearing to take the oath of the Presidential office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. ", Abraham Lincoln makes the audience respect him by saying that this is the second oath in where he takes the office, Ethos is the mode where an audience is convinced by your ethics or authority.

    In the second quote, he states obvious and reasonable facts, that the audience can agree with, just by logic, which is the mode Logos; 2.
