    A. He changed his violent ways and tried to spread messages of peace to young people.

    Explanation:

Stanley Tookie Williams was one of the founders of the nationwide gang organization known as the Crips alongside his friend Raymond Washington. And though he later repented for his actions, he was sentenced to death and ex ec uted by lethal injection on December 13, 2005.

Growing up in a society where he had to regularly learn to fend for himself and being a black person, he learned more in the streets than in school. He also began to get involved in numerous illegal activities, robbing people and fighting. When he grew up, he and Washington formed the Crips, with their primary goal to put other gangs from their area. But with the increase in complications among the members, Washington was killed while Williams decided to quit the gang all together, though not before he was convicted of multiple murders.

Charged with capital punishment, he was kept in solitary confinement. While in prison, he began to have a change of heart and decided to promote anti-gang activities, even authoring books warning young people against such gang activities and the harmful repercussions. He was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize several times though he wasn't selected. And despite many appeals from various organizations and activists, his appeal for a life sentence rather than the death sentence was rejected. And on 13th December 2005, he was ex ec uted by lethal injection after his appeal was denied by the Governor Ar nold Sc hw ar zen ne g ger.

Thus, the best reason why he was remembered was for his changed behavior from his violent ways and his work spreading messages of peace to young people.
