Narration is the art of storytelling, and the purpose of writing is to tell stories. anytime you tell a story about an event or incident you engage in a form of narration.

A personal narrative is a story that describes a personal experience that the author has gone through. The purpose of these is usually to convey a lesson, entertain an audience, or simple retell an interesting experience. Personal narratives are usually written in the first person and they tend to be more vivid and emotional than other types of narratives.
