An alligators snout is shorter and broader than that of a crocodile. When an alligator's mouth is shut. You can see only the top teeth protruding outside the mouth. But with a crocodile, you can see several of its bottom teeth as well as its top teeth. the most important difference, however, is in behavior rather than looks.
