1. Why does Chopin introduce the reader to her protagonist as "Mrs. Mallard" rather than by her first name?

    Mrs. Mallard is the protagonist of the story in "A story of an Hour" and she is a woman with a powerless heart condition.

    Chopin doesn't use her first name because she was refused her own identify for so many time, just at the end of the story we learn she was called Louise.
