The overpopulation of deer in our area has been made worse by the building of a housing development on the outskirts of town. Once the forest was partially cleared for the development, the deer moved in, as their preferred habitat is a mix of open meadow and forest. Deer overpopulation has resulted in several problems in our neighborhood. People have hit deer with their cars, resulting in injuries and property damage. Deer are feeding in flower and vegetable gardens, and deer droppings are messy and potentially harmful.
