Since John and Elizabeth had seen each other after long, they felt very awkward, it was a weird moment and they did not know what to talk to each other.

    Explanation:

The Crucible is a play written by Miller Arthur who is one of the most famous American playwrights in English. The crucible is a drama play and a fictional play but it is partially fictional play. This play is focused on the story of Salem witch that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692-93.

In the story, in act 4, John and Elizabeth have met each other after really long and because of that when they came in front of each other, they felt very awkward and did not know what to talk for some time and hence they kept quiet.
