Sancho Panza is a foil to Don Quixote because of the following reasons:

Sancho brings out the extreme qualities of Don Quixote. Whereas Don Quixote cares about abstract things such honor and love, Sancho cares about practical things such as food, money and sleep. Don Quixote speaks like a knight of medieval adventure story, Sancho speaks with proverbs and curses that don't really make sense. Don Quixote is tall and thin but Sancho is short and fat.

There are several answers to this question.

    Explanation:

Don Quixote is considered as the first novel, and it was written by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, in 1605.

First of all, it is important to remark the physical appearance, where Don Quixote are totally the opposite: the first one is tall and thin, while the other is short and fat. Don Quixote is always looking for adventure, while Sancho is different and always wants to slow down Don Quixote and bring him back to reality; Don Quixote also cares about "important things", such as finding her loved one and not running away from a fight, and Sancho thinks satisfying the body is more important by eating or getting rest.
