Laertes feels anxious to avenge his father's death. When he learns about his father's demise, he swears to "revenge" him. He returns to France and upon learning that it was Hamlet the one who ended his father's life, he joins the King's plan to kill Hamlet.

In Shakespeare's Hamlet (1605), Laertes expresses his rage when he gets to know his father died in 4.5.148-154.

We can see he feels outraged by his father's dead, he grieves deeply for him, though he immediately acts upon this grief. He immediately returns from France, storms the Danish castle and promises he will be "revenged". When he learns Hamlet killed his father, he goes along with the King's plan to kill Hamlet.

Laertes confronts Hamlet in a "friendly" duel and he his finally killed with his own sword.
