Why do people want to experience nature?

And why are people so fascinated by the ideas of survival and the wilderness

I feel the reason people want to experience nature is because nature is apart of our roots the same goes for why would someone want to experience survival and the wilderness would be because its an experience where you could learn alot about the outside world.
