In Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart", the narrator describes how he suffocated an old man to death because of the old man's ghastly eye. He claims he is not insane, but was very "nervous" and "wise"; however, are there any clues in the story that reveal otherwise? Examine his testimony.

In 8-10 sentences, answer the following argumentative prompt:

Is the narrator guilty of murder and should be put in prison or is he not guilty by reason of insanity and should be put in a mental hospital? Consider the narrator's manner of speaking, state of mind, and actions to support your argument. Use at least TWO pieces of textual evidence in your response.

    Insanity put in mental hospital

    Explanation:

Now days if your insane or mentally ill and you commit a crime they take that in consideration and should there for only be put in the mental hospital and stay there but if the masters family wished for more they most likely would've wanted more of a punishment. For him to only be bothered by his eye is of no reason to kill someone there are many other things he could've done instead of killing him and feeling guilty afterwards sorry if that didn't make sense
