    When the narrator says:

"In Response to Executive Order 9066". I gave her a packet of tomato seeds and asked her to plant them for me, told her when the first tomato ripened she'd miss me."

The narrator gives the impression that:

    (D) she will be gone for a long time.

    Explanation:

The reasons behind this are that in the first place when the author says that she will miss the author when the tomato ripes, the author evocates the time it will take for the tomato to do that and the emotion she will fill because the author is not going to be close to her. Also, the tomato is not even plant is a seed only. Therefore we deduce that it will pass a big amount of time from the last they see each other.
