    Ben and snake are the two things which are been compared in the above statement.

    In the above metaphor, the quality to swallow is the important quality of the snake.

    When two things are compared directly, the comparison is known as a smile. Usually, the comparison is made by using 'like' and 'as'. In the above sentence, the swallowing nature of the snake is being compared with the way Ben swallowed the sandwiches.
