The answer is C) Dante considers reason to be more important than personal desires.

Personal desires and self-will are nearly the same thing. Dante is saying that it is a sin to surrender reason and give in to our personal desires. An example, would be to give in to our physical desires or our fleshly desires, rather than use reason to logically think through a decision and avoid fleshly sins.
