The book, 'The Great Gatsby', was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The narrator of events in the book was named Nick Carraway. The event begins with a description of Nick who had just returned from the World War II as a soldier and who was then looking to settle in the Western Egg. He was a man born into great wealth and prominence. However, this privilege did not stop him from having good morals.

His father gave him the advice to never be critical in his judgement of people because they all did not have the same privilege as him. Nick however also had his imperfections as he had the tendencies of being a snob.
