Why do citizens need to be able to critically evaluate information about politics presented in the media?

Because the information presented about politics may have been altered to fit a certain purpose. It may also be inaccurat, vague, or attempt to influence spectators in a dishonest way. By developing a personal criterion to judge politics impartially, people can become citizens whose votes and legal actions are made with integrity, responsibility and consciousness.
