The land is usually very dry and hot in these areas. Southwest Asia has an "Arid Climate", which means that water (fresh) is usually scarce. South Asian in general, however, is surrounded by three bodies of water - Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea - and is home to many different geographical features, like rainforests, deserts, glaciers, grasslands, and valleys.
