Barking, or the simple sound "Bark Bark" of the dog is a Onomatopoeia: a word designed to be an imitation of a sound.

Well can you give me a sentence to give you an accurate answer because if you mean like the sound "woof" it's an onomatopoeia but if it's like "the wind howled" it's personification.
