1. What attracted Gatsby to Daisy? Why did he have to deceive her to try and win her over?

    Gatsby is attracted to Daisy because she is everything he could ever want. Daisy represents everything that he wishes for; power, money, and success. She is out of reach for him so she is even more desirable. Gatsby had to lie to Daisy so she would think that he was a person the same as herself.
