Why are we sometimes harder on the ones we love than we are on anyone else?

We are sometimes harder on the ones we love because of the fear that they might not succeed. When we love someone, we want the best for them. The last things we want to see them do if fail and fall flat on their face. Because of this fear, we try to push them to be the best they can be and expect more from them.
