Pronouns that follow any linking verb in a statement are known as subject complements. Adjectives and nouns with the same functionality are also categorized under the same class.
Below is the list of subject and object pronouns. Remember, a subject complement offers more explanation in regards to the subject, so we must employ the subject figure of the pronoun - understanding that it might sound strange.
Subject pronouns:
I, we, you, he, it, they, who, she.
Object pronouns:
her, it, them, whom, me, us, you, him.
The syntax for utilization of the subject complement is mentioned beneath:
"Subject + Linking Verb + Subject Complement."
Check out the three examples to fix any issue regarding the use, and compare the examples to learn how the syntax is applied in each sentence.
Don't misunderstand Jack. It was I who disturbed you while studying. Don't get angry! I didn't push you down! It was he. Remember the indefatigable athlete I told about? This is she.
Note: Pronoun after the linking verb is underlined.
