How does Piggy justify the killing of Simon?

    Ralph vehemently insists that Simon is dead and that they murdered him. Piggy dislikes the use of the word "murder" and continues to rationalize that it was nothing more than an accident. Piggy says that they were scared, they thought it was the beast, and they lashed out because of it.
