The stories are "Tell Tale Heart", "To Build a Fire", and "Desire's Baby"

All the stories represent some form of order in the caos. In Tell Tale Heart, shows how well he can relate to the story, exhibiting order even when disposing a body, while also proving himself chaotic by madly killing the old man.

In To Build a fire, the man tries over and over again to light a fire. We can see order on the way he discerns temperature, and his thoughts full of knowledge and plans while nature and the ambient around him behaves chaotically.

Desiree's Baby shows a different aspect of these ideas. It shows Desiree's ignorance about her color and how it is unacceptable. Also seeing Armand's holy beliefs and order, the book shows that chaos can unbalance your whole life, "consuming" order.
