First divide 258 by 300 to get your decimal-->0.86 and to find the percent (any percent is a decimal so) you have 86%. that rule is with teacher grading too. if you get 16/20 you just divide and 16 over 20 to get 0.8, in other words 80% the 0 in 80 is the imaginary 0 behind 8 in 0.8 (0).
