Why does analyzing character motivation matter?

It reveals diction.

It distracts from syntax.

It propels the plot.

It resolves conflict.

The answer to this question is that characters' motivation 'propels the plot'. The whole story usually begins due to someone's motivation to do something, and so the plot unravels.

I have no idea what B is suppose to be but I believe the answer would be either C, I would go for C because thats how it usual goes in movies and books, yeah I would put my money on C, tell me if it is correct or not, sorry if it isnt
