    D because when you name a subject differently you put commas around it.

    It makes sense if you think about when you would pause while speaking.

    The commas here are introducing a dependant clause, and you can tell because this sentence would be essentially the same using parentheses.

    Sharon Day (the violinist) played beautifully tonight.
