Jay Gatsby is obsessed with the idea of Daisy. Once Gatsby accomplished the American Dream to marry Daisy he found her belonging to Tom Buchanan and their child. The only way he wanted Daisy was without her child and a statement verifying that she never loved Tom Buchanan. Furthermore, he had spent countless acquired wealth to through over abundant flamboyant parties in hopes of luring Daisy. Obsessed with turning back time. He wanted her for what she stood for: wealth, success, American Dream. He remained always reaching for the green light.
