Religion was very important in Puritan life because the Puritans believed that they are the chosen ones. These people have a strong faith that they are being personally picked up by God therefore they are obliged and required to live every second of their lives in ways that God wanted them to. A religious reform movement that was created in the Church of England was called Puritanism. The Puritans is actually the term used by their enemies to condemn their movement which was believed to have meant as "the precisionists"
