Read the passage from "The Quinceanera." The next thing I knew, the alarm on my phone rang, startling me out of a daze. It was 12:30, time for me to leave! In a rush of misery I realized I had to make a choice: get my sister's gift or make it to my movie on time. A quick look at the jewelry reminded me that there wasn't anything here I thought she'd like anyhow. But I had to get her something! And then it hit me. My sister liked movies - I could get her movie tickets at the theatre, or a gift certificate she could use whenever she wanted!

The reader can logically predict that the narrator will most likely

regret his decision and go back to the jewelry store. get involved with his friends and the movie and forget the gift. watch the movie and then buy his sister a gift she will enjoy. stay late with his friends and arrive late to the party.
