According to MLA citation style, book titles should be given in italics. A title is enclosed by quotation marks if a text or film piece is part of a larger work. These would include a chapter title, a poem or short story from a published collection, a tv episode, a song title, or a magazing article. Larger, stand-alone works are put in italics. So book titles, movie titles, magazine names, tv series names, album titles. Quotation marks are tiny, while italics affect the entire title; so remember small works = quotation marks, large works = italics
