What the excerpt suggests about Hamlet's state of mind is that Hamlet admires Pyrrhus and wants to follow his example. Hamlet knows that Claudius killed his father, and he wants to follow Pyrrhus's example and kill Claudius, and thus avenge his father's death. The whole play is about him plotting his revenge and deciding whether to go through with it or not.
