I'd say that the statement that contains the best hook among these is B. I never knew that a normal day at the beach would change my life forever.

You are hooked after reading this, and you have to know what happened in order for the narrator to write this.

If the sentence contains a hook, It should attract reader's attention to intrigue him that there will be something interesting later in the text. So my answer is b. i never knew that a normal day at the beach would change my life forever.
