What is the difference between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclise

Solar eclipse-The moon covers the sun

Lunar eclipse-A shadow covers the moon

Lunar eclipse:

Shadow falls on the moon.

Moon becomes dark.

Anybody on Earth who can see the moon sees it become dark.

Solar eclipse:

Shadow falls on the Earth.

A small spot on the Earth becomes dark.

People who happen to be inside that small spot see darkness for a few minutes.

(They see the sun become dark in the sky.)
