Am I using the world 'subterfuge' correctly in this sentence:

She bribed her husband's doctor into the subterfuge of giving him medicine that was actually poison.

    Yes, although I would have added her goal in doing that in the sentence. For example: She bribed her husband’s doctor into the subterfuge of giving him medicine that was actually poison; so that she could get all of his money.
