An essay would grasp the concept more so in my opinion, simply because you could express more without being metaphoric or rhyming. A poem would be the shorter route considering you can pick at one line and elaborate on that, such as taking the statistics and keep going on those. A essay would require mire research. I depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.
