What Abraham Lincoln intends to say in this sentence:

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our

freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

    He pretty much means that America itself, the land, will never look destroyed. But if we would let someone take our freedom, it would show how weak we are internally (inside ourselves like our mind and heart) as a nation.
